**PWHL Announces Finalists for Billie Jean King MVP Award**

**NEW YORK, NY & TORONTO, ON (May 22, 2025)** – The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) has unveiled the three finalists vying for the prestigious 2025 Billie Jean King MVP award: Renata Fast (Toronto Sceptres), Hilary Knight (Boston Fleet), and Marie-Philip Poulin (Montréal Victoire). The award recognizes the player deemed most valuable to their team’s success throughout the regular season.

Fast makes history as the first defender nominated for the MVP title, recognized for her dominating presence on the ice, leading the league in ice time (739:45) and averaging 24:39 per game. The Sceptres alternate captain showcased her defensive prowess and offensive capabilities, recording 22 points (6 goals, 16 assists) and leading defenders in multiple offensive categories.

Knight, a scoring force for the Boston Fleet, tied for the league lead with 29 points in 30 games. The Fleet captain set new offensive standards, leading all forwards in ice time (666:26) and demonstrating consistent performance throughout the season.

Poulin, a repeat finalist from the previous year, propelled the Montréal Victoire to their first-ever first-place finish. Leading the league in goals (19), Poulin accounted for a staggering 25.7% of her team’s total goals and demonstrated exceptional performance in crucial moments, including a league-leading six game-winning goals.

The PWHL selection committee cast their votes, and the MVP will be announced on June 25th at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Ottawa. Last year’s inaugural Billie Jean King MVP was awarded to Natalie Spooner of Toronto.
