Fri May 23 05:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Eiza González Credits Telenovela Roots for Success with Guy Ritchie in New Apple TV+ Film
**Los Angeles, CA** – Mexican actress Eiza González is opening up about her successful partnership with British director Guy Ritchie, revealing that her experience in Mexican telenovelas prepared her for the fast-paced and demanding environment of his film sets. González, who stars alongside Natalie Portman and John Krasinski in Ritchie’s upcoming film “Fountain of Youth” on Apple TV+, spoke exclusively with PEOPLE EN ESPAŃOL about her third collaboration with the director in just two years.
“I don’t really know what the magic is in our artistic relationship,” González admitted, but she believes her telenovela background gave her a crucial edge. “The years of experience I have from telenovelas, where everything was about adapting quickly, changing from one scene to another, and being mentally quick and positive; I think I learned a lot there.”
González praised Ritchie’s faith in her abilities. “From the day I met him, he saw the passion I have for cinema, for developing in areas that I hadn’t had the opportunity to before. Someone believed in me,” she shared. “We get along very well, it’s a pleasure to work with him on set. I understand his work style very well, I adapt very well.”
“Fountain of Youth,” premiering on Apple TV+ on May 23rd, has already generated buzz for its stunning scenes filmed in various locations, including Egypt, Thailand, Austria, and The Vatican. González highlighted the experience of filming in Vienna’s iconic library. “I still can’t believe how we were able to enter that location and film,” she exclaimed, recounting the meticulous efforts taken to protect the historical site. “We even now know where the secret doors of that library are because we had complete access to the library, so it was something very unique and special that I will never forget.”
Discussing her character, Esme, González described her as “quite enigmatic,” a woman with a dark humor and a reserved nature. “I love her personality,” González said. “I had never had the possibility of doing this type of colder comedy. She is a bit hermetic, and her character is a bit square. And that’s something I like because [John Krasinski’s character] is completely the opposite, and I think they complement each other very well together.”
“Fountain of Youth” promises a captivating story with breathtaking visuals and strong performances, cementing González’s position as a rising star in Hollywood.
