**Deborah Norville Announces Departure from Inside Edition After 30 Years**
NEW YORK, NY – May 16, 2024 – Deborah Norville, the longest-running anchor on a national television program, has announced her departure from *Inside Edition* after a remarkable 30-year tenure. Her last episode will air on Wednesday, May 21st.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Norville, 66, discussed her decision, highlighting the importance of family and personal growth. She emphasized that the decision was driven by a desire to prioritize her marriage and explore new opportunities after decades of balancing a demanding career with family life.
“There have been too many times when my career had to come first,” Norville stated. “It’s right for me to be there for him and to do the things that as a couple we really want to do.”
Norville joined *Inside Edition* when her children were young, a decision she says allowed her to be more present for her family than other offers at the time would have allowed. Today, her children are grown, and she’s looking forward to a new chapter.
While expressing immense gratitude for her time at *Inside Edition*, Norville revealed she turned down an offer to continue with the show. “There are just things I want to do and places I want to do them that staying in the New York studio don’t permit,” she explained.
The veteran journalist isn’t slowing down. Norville is set to host *The Perfect Line*, a syndicated trivia game show centered around pop culture and news, which will premiere later this year. “I think it’s going to be a great transition from Inside Edition because the show is built around pop culture and trivia. If you follow the news, you’ll be really good at this game show,” she said.
Norville also hinted at other projects in the works, promising an exciting future. She expressed her deep appreciation for the support she’s received throughout her career and is looking forward to what’s next.
