**Gary Player Foundation Donates $150,000 to Riviera Beach Health Center, Pediatrics Unit to Be Named in Their Honor**

**RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. –** Golf legend Gary Player and the Gary and Vivienne Player Foundation presented FoundCare with a $150,000 check on Monday, bolstering the organization’s efforts to provide comprehensive healthcare to the Riviera Beach community. The generous donation will be used to support the nearly completed FoundCare Riviera Beach health center, which is slated to open on June 16th.

In recognition of the foundation’s significant contribution, FoundCare will name its pediatrics unit after Gary Player and his foundation.

“Most importantly, all our pediatrics wing will be named after Gary Player and his foundation for the support they’re giving us,” said FoundCare Chief Executive Officer Christopher Irizarry.

The new facility will offer a wide range of services, including adult medicine, pediatrics, women’s health, dentistry, psychiatry, and an on-site pharmacy, providing much-needed access to care for underserved populations. FoundCare reports that 30% of its patients are under 18, making the foundation’s investment in pediatric care particularly impactful.

Irizarry explained that FoundCare had applied for funding and the Player Foundation stepped up to fulfill their $150,000 need.

Player expressed his deep satisfaction in being able to give back to the community. “I get on the golf course and I’m like a lion. I’m so fierce,” Player said. “Yet, when I get off the golf course, I’m a crybaby, as my great hero Winston Churchill was. It just gives me such joy to be able to see, having struggled the way I did, I experienced it. And if you experience it, you know what it’s like.”

“It’s nice to be a world champion, but it’s nicer to be a world champion with love,” Player added.

The FoundCare Riviera Beach health center is poised to become a vital resource for the community, providing comprehensive and accessible healthcare services to residents of all ages.
