FanDuel Sports Network is enhancing its MLB broadcasts with WireCam, a cable-suspended camera system. It has been used for Cincinnati Reds games and is moving to Milwaukee Brewers broadcasts. Decisions on future locations will be based on team interest and suitable venue layouts. WireCam is designed to provide unique viewing angles and controlled by a single operator. It is not unique to FanDuel, having previously been used by other regional sports networks, including ROOT Sports, and installed in over a dozen ballparks, to capture dynamic shots, particularly along the third-base line. Its ease of use and the ability to capture unique views have made it a popular addition to baseball broadcasts.

**FanDuel Sports Network Adds “WireCam” to MLB Broadcasts for Unique Fan Experience**
**NEW YORK, NY – May 20, 2025** – FanDuel Sports Network is taking viewers closer to the action this MLB season with the implementation of WireCam, a dynamic cable-suspended camera system designed to enhance game broadcasts with unique perspectives.
The network recently concluded its use of WireCam during FanDuel Sports Network Ohio’s broadcasts of Cincinnati Reds games at Great American Ballpark. Now, the system is headed to American Family Field in Milwaukee, where it will enhance FanDuel Sports Network Wisconsin’s coverage of the Brewers through mid-June.
“We are very happy to have WireCam in position to enhance games with a number of our teams thus far,” says Ed Placey, executive producer, MLB, FanDuel Sports Network.
WireCam is controlled by a single operator, minimizing production complexity and cost. The camera allows for smooth, sweeping shots across the field, capturing player movements and crowd reactions from angles not previously available. Decisions on where the WireCam will be installed depend on interest from the teams themselves as well as whether locations allow productive use. “Moving forward, we’ll be keeping an eye on how pennant races are shaping up as well,” he says, noting that his hope is for WireCam to visit first-place Detroit as soon as possible. “It has been good exposing our directors to more of these opportunities to enhance their shows with a unique tool that is starting to turn heads in baseball.”
While FanDuel Sports Network is implementing WireCam to bring new looks to their broadcast, other networks already have used the system. ROOT Sports first adopted similar technology in 2020, and now more than a dozen teams, including the Dodgers, Padres, Giants, Astros, Cardinals, and Blue Jays, utilize similar camera systems in their home ballparks, enhancing the fan experience. Often positioned along the third-base line, the system allows for captures of game defining moments.
FanDuel Sports Network sees an additional benefit when two of its teams face off, ensuring that both home and away telecasts benefit from the unique camera angles provided by WireCam.
“Expanding our production capabilities continues to be at the forefront of our mission to deliver a new standard for teams and their hometown fans,” Placey stated.
