**Thunder Dominate Nuggets in Game 7, Advance to Western Conference Finals**

**Oklahoma City, OK** – The Oklahoma City Thunder are headed to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2016 after a resounding 125-93 victory over the Denver Nuggets in Game 7 on Sunday. Fueled by a stifling defense and a dominant second-half performance, the Thunder left no doubt, crushing the defending champions’ hopes of a repeat run.

While the Nuggets briefly held an early lead, the Thunder’s defense tightened the screws in the second quarter, forcing 22 turnovers, including 16 steals, which ultimately proved to be the Nuggets’ undoing. An 18-5 run to close out the second quarter gave Oklahoma City a commanding 60-46 lead at halftime, a lead they would only extend in the second half.

Nikola Jokić, despite nearly achieving a triple-double with 20 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists, acknowledged his team’s shortcomings. “We definitely need [more depth],” Jokić stated. “… It seems like the teams that have longer rotations, longer bench, are the ones who are winning. Indiana. OKC. Minnesota.”

Alex Caruso, who was a defensive force, contributed 11 points, 3 steals and a team-high plus-40.

The loss concludes a turbulent season for the Nuggets, who faced upheaval with the firings of head coach Michael Malone and general manager Calvin Booth late in the regular season. Interim coach David Adelman praised Aaron Gordon’s courageous performance, who played through a Grade II hamstring strain, contributing 8 points and 11 rebounds.

However, the Nuggets’ fight faded in the second half, with Adelman ultimately conceding by benching his starters midway through the fourth quarter.

The Thunder now face a quick turnaround as they prepare to host the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday. Oklahoma City looks to continue its dominant run and secure a spot in the NBA Finals.
