**Ego Nwodim Reflects on SNL Success, Future Aspirations Ahead of Season Finale**
**New York, NY –** As “Saturday Night Live” gears up for its season 50 finale, current cast member Ego Nwodim sat down with Glamour to discuss her journey on the show, memorable characters, and future career goals. During a brief dinner near 30 Rock, Nwodim, 37, touched on her senior status within the cast, highlighting the importance of supporting newer members.
Nwodim has become a standout performer in recent seasons, creating memorable characters like Lisa from Temecula and Miss Eggy, who has created memorable moments. Nwodim has also been working on other projects outside of SNL, including hosting a podcast and appearing in the Peacock series “Mr. Throwback,” as well as hosting Vogue’s Met Gala Livestream.
Looking ahead, Nwodim expressed a desire to explore physical comedy, drama, and even directing, emphasizing the importance of passion in her work. She is looking to “do it all.” Nwodim notes the importance of faith in her life, journaling, meditation, prayer, and going to church.
Nwodim also shed light on the collaborative and diverse environment within the SNL writers’ room, pushing back against misconceptions about its composition. She noted that people write from their own perspective in that room, and that it is not just “one white guy” writing the show.
The SNL season 50 finale, hosted by Scarlett Johansson, airs tonight on NBC. Nwodim emphasized the cast’s desire to entertain and bring joy to viewers, stating, “We just want to make you laugh and have fun with our friends.”
