**Doha, Qatar -** Former US President Donald Trump concluded a whirlwind tour of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE, claiming to have secured a staggering $10 trillion in deals. The trip culminated with the United Arab Emirates announcing a $1.4 trillion investment in the US artificial intelligence sector over the next decade.

Trump hailed the deepening ties between the US and UAE, stating, “I have absolutely no doubt that the relationship will only get bigger and better.” The agreement aims to facilitate the construction of data centers vital for developing AI models in the UAE, with the White House confirming the UAE’s commitment to investing in, building, or financing US data centers of comparable size and power. While details on specific AI chips were not disclosed, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was seen in discussion with Trump and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Al Jazeera’s Hashem Ahelbarra reported from Doha that this type of agreement had previously raised national security concerns for Washington.

During his visit to Qatar, Trump announced defense purchases worth $42 billion and highlighted a deal for Qatar Airways to purchase up to 210 Boeing widebody jets. In Saudi Arabia, he secured a $600 billion investment commitment in the US and a $142 billion agreement for US arms purchases.

Beyond the economic agreements, Trump’s tour included diplomatic efforts. In Qatar, he suggested that the US was nearing a nuclear deal with Iran and earlier stated that the US would remove sanctions on Syria.

Trump hinted at a possible stop in Istanbul to discuss the Russia-Ukraine war before returning to Washington, D.C.
