**Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh – May 16, 2025 (The Hindu)** – Andhra Pradesh is taking a significant step toward a sustainable future with the groundbreaking of the ₹22,000 crore ReNew Renewable Energy Complex in Anantapur. HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh presided over the “bhumi puja” ceremony on Friday, hailing the project as a cornerstone of India’s clean energy revolution.

He further stressed that the project represents a move away from fossil fuels and towards a cleaner future for generations to come.
Lokesh credited Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership, branding him “Brand Babu,” for attracting such large-scale investments. He pointed out that the project is projected to create at least 10,000 direct jobs for local youth, with many more indirect employment opportunities anticipated.
The Minister also acknowledged the crucial role of local farmers in making the project a reality, commending their willingness to provide land for the facility. He assured them that their contribution would not be in vain.
The ReNew Renewable Energy Complex aligns with the Telugu Desam Party’s “Super 6” promises and underscores the state’s commitment to generating 20 lakh jobs. The project marks a substantial investment in Andhra Pradesh’s green energy sector and reinforces its position as a key player in India’s transition to sustainable power.
