**Top TRF Commander Shahid Kuttay Killed in Shopian Encounter**
**Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir – May 13, 2025** – Shahid Kuttay, the chief of The Resistance Front (TRF) and the alleged mastermind behind the recent Pahalgam terror attack, was killed today in a fierce encounter with Indian security forces in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The operation, dubbed “Operation Keller,” was launched by a Rashtriya Rifles Unit based on specific intelligence regarding terrorist activity in the Shoekal Keller area. A joint team comprising the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) engaged the militants in a gun battle that lasted several hours.
According to the Indian Army, the terrorists initiated heavy fire, resulting in a fierce firefight. In addition to Kuttay, two other “hardcore terrorists” were also eliminated.
Kuttay had been a high-priority target for Indian agencies for months, particularly due to his alleged involvement in the Pahalgam attack, which tragically resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians. His death is considered a major blow to the TRF, a proxy organization for the Pakistan-backed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
“The elimination of Shahid Kuttay represents a significant victory in our ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in the region,” stated an unnamed source within the Indian Army. “This operation sends a clear message that we will not tolerate acts of violence and will relentlessly pursue those who threaten the peace and security of our nation.”
Following the encounter, security forces cordoned off the area and are conducting thorough search operations to ensure no other militants are present. Authorities have also heightened security measures across the region to prevent potential retaliatory attacks.
This operation comes on the heels of “Operation Sindoor,” India’s recent major success involving precision airstrikes targeting key terror hubs in Pakistan.
