**Mumbai, India** – The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the resumption of the TATA IPL 2025, following a suspension due to cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan. The tournament, initially halted on May 9th after a match was cancelled due to security concerns, will restart on May 17th and conclude with the final on June 3rd.
A revised schedule will see 17 matches played across six venues. The playoffs will take place between May 29th and June 3rd, with venue details to be announced later. The BCCI cited extensive consultations with government and security agencies as the basis for the decision to resume the tournament.
Significant changes to the schedule include the relocation of several teams’ home matches. Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings will now play their home games in Delhi, while Punjab Kings’ matches will be held in Jaipur. The postponed match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals will be replayed on May 25th.
The revised schedule features only two double-headers, on May 18th and 25th, and surprisingly concludes with the final on a Tuesday. The BCCI acknowledged the challenges posed by international fixtures scheduled before May 3rd, impacting the availability of international players for their respective franchises.
The BCCI expressed gratitude to India’s armed forces and reaffirmed its commitment to national security while ensuring the successful completion of the league.
