**Tulsa, OK –** Xaviar Babudar, the infamous Kansas City Chiefs superfan known as “ChiefsAholic,” was sentenced Monday to an additional 32 years in prison for a string of bank robberies, bringing his total sentence to 49.5 years. The 30-year-old already faced a 17.5-year federal sentence for robbing banks across seven states.
Babudar pleaded guilty in March to charges stemming from a December 2022 armed robbery of the Tulsa Teachers Credit Union, where he stole $150,000. The Tulsa County District Attorney, Steve Kunzweiler, argued for a life sentence, expressing outrage that Babudar’s federal sentence didn’t reflect the severity of his crimes, which victimized numerous “hard-working Americans.” While disappointed the sentence wasn’t life imprisonment, Kunzweiler stated, “At least he’s going to be serving some additional time.”
Babudar’s attorneys argued for leniency, citing his gambling addiction, troubled childhood, and recent remorse. They emphasized that he never intended to harm anyone and used a CO2 pistol, not a real firearm, during the robberies. However, the victim’s attorney, Frank Frasier, representing a former bank teller traumatized by the event, argued for the maximum sentence.
The additional 32-year sentence will run concurrently with his federal sentence, meaning he will serve an additional 14.5 years after completing his federal time. Babudar’s crimes included robbing banks in several states, including Oklahoma, Nevada, and California, netting over $800,000 in total. After initially being released on bond, he removed his GPS monitoring device and continued his spree before his eventual arrest.
Before his arrest, Babudar enjoyed a significant social media presence as a beloved Chiefs superfan. The stark contrast between his public persona and criminal activities has shocked fans and the community. He is currently incarcerated in a super-maximum security prison in Colorado.
