Mon May 12 14:50:00 UTC 2025: ## India Launches “Operation Sindur,” Strikes Terrorist Camps in Pakistan

**New Delhi, India** – In a nationally televised address on Buddha Purnima, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the Indian armed forces for their successful “Operation Sindur,” a series of targeted strikes against terrorist camps in Pakistan. The operation, launched in response to a brutal attack in Pulwama on April 22nd, resulted in the deaths of over 100 terrorists.

PM Modi stated that while India is a land of peace and advocates for non-violence, it will not tolerate terrorism. He delivered a strong warning to Pakistan, emphasizing that continued support for terrorist groups will have severe consequences. He directly addressed Pakistan’s military and government, stating their actions in harboring terrorists will ultimately lead to Pakistan’s own destruction.

The Prime Minister highlighted India’s unwavering resolve to address terrorism and the issue of Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), implicitly countering claims by US President Donald Trump that his intervention led to a ceasefire. Modi emphasized India’s strength and restraint, while simultaneously showcasing the decisive action taken against terrorist threats.

“Operation Sindur,” Modi explained, was not merely a military operation but a reflection of the nation’s collective outrage and commitment to justice. The strikes targeted training camps and infrastructure used by terrorist organizations, including those linked to major global attacks. Modi stated that the operation successfully neutralized numerous key figures in terrorist organizations operating against India for the past two to three decades.

Pakistan’s subsequent retaliatory attempts were thwarted by India’s robust air defense systems, according to Modi. He claimed that Pakistan’s attacks were ineffective and resulted in significant damage to their own air bases. Following heavy losses, Pakistan reportedly contacted India’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) seeking de-escalation on May 10th.

While confirming a temporary suspension of offensive action, Modi made it clear that this was not a permanent cessation of hostilities. India, he stated, will continue to monitor Pakistan’s actions and respond decisively to any future threats. He reiterated India’s three key policy points: a strong response to any terrorist attack on Indian soil; zero tolerance for nuclear blackmail; and a refusal to differentiate between state-sponsored terrorism and terrorist organizations. Modi concluded by emphasizing India’s unity and strength, asserting the nation’s commitment to peace while simultaneously maintaining its resolve to defend its interests with overwhelming force.
