Tue May 13 01:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Bihar Sizzles Under High Humidity, Receives Late Night Relief
**Patna, Bihar –** Bihar residents endured a sweltering Monday, with high temperatures and humidity levels making the heat feel significantly worse than the actual temperature. The maximum temperature in Patna reached 39°C, but with humidity at 90%, the perceived temperature was 10-12°C higher. This oppressive heat led to widespread discomfort.
Relief arrived late Monday night, however, in the form of a brief but intense rain shower accompanied by strong winds. Several areas, including Patna, experienced rainfall, offering much-needed respite.
The heat eased slightly on Monday, with a 1.7°C drop in maximum temperature. However, with humidity at 51%, the perceived temperature remained high. Patna recorded a maximum temperature of 39°C and a minimum of 29.5°C. Statewide, Motihari recorded the highest temperature at 41°C, while Madhepura registered the lowest at 24.1°C.
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Tuesday, predicting thunderstorms, lightning, and winds up to 30-40 kmph in Kishanganj, Araria, and Supaul districts. High humidity is expected to continue in South Bihar, along with the north-central and north-western regions, leading to persistent discomfort. However, a gradual decrease of 2-3°C in both maximum and minimum temperatures is anticipated between Friday and Sunday.
