**IDUKKI, KERALA –** A minor landslide occurred on Monday afternoon near Gap Road in Idukki, Kerala, disrupting traffic on the Kochi-Dhanushkodi National Highway. Heavy rainfall triggered the incident, causing boulders and rocks to fall onto the road around 5 p.m. Authorities temporarily suspended traffic, but single-lane traffic resumed later in the evening after partial debris removal. Some vehicles were diverted.

This is the latest in a series of over 22 landslides reported on this stretch of highway since road widening works concluded in 2023. A significant landslide in June 2024 caused a two-week closure. The road remains under repair with full clearance pending. Devikulam tahsildar Santhosh Kumar attributed the landslide to the intense rainfall experienced in the area on Monday.
