Mon May 12 07:04:45 UTC 2025: ## India Reopens 32 Airports After India-Pakistan Ceasefire
**Mumbai, May 12, 2025** – The Airports Authority of India (AAI) announced today the resumption of civilian flight operations at 32 airports across northern and western India. These airports were temporarily closed last week due to heightened security measures in response to a military standoff with Pakistan.
The closure, affecting major airports such as Srinagar and Amritsar, was in effect from May 9th to May 15th. However, following an agreement reached on Saturday between India and Pakistan to halt all military actions on land, air, and sea, the AAI lifted the restrictions with immediate effect.
While operations have resumed, the AAI advises travelers to verify flight statuses directly with airlines and monitor airline websites for updates. The temporary closure impacted a significant portion of India’s air travel network, highlighting the seriousness of the recent border tensions.
