**Udupi, Karnataka:** Kannada television actor Rakesh Poojari, winner of *Comedy Khiladigalu* season 3, passed away at the age of 34 due to a heart attack. Poojari collapsed yesterday at a friend’s Mehndi ceremony after suffering a sudden drop in blood pressure. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to the heart attack.
Poojari, a resident of Udupi, was the primary source of support for his mother and younger sister. He had been looking forward to his sister’s wedding, which he planned to make a grand affair, and had expressed plans to marry after the event.
Known for his dedication and hard work, Poojari’s breakthrough role came with his victory on *Comedy Khiladigalu*. He had reportedly made a vow to the Koragajja deity, attributing his win to divine intervention.
His acting credits include the television serial *Hitler Kalyana*, where he played the role of Virupaksha, the protagonist’s PA, and films and plays in both Kannada and Tulu languages. He also featured in several coastal reality shows.
Poojari’s unexpected death has sent shockwaves through the Kannada television industry. He leaves behind his mother Shambhavi and sister.
