Sat May 10 00:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Taylor Swift Subpoenaed in Lively-Baldoni Lawsuit: A PR Stunt?

**NEW YORK, NY** – Taylor Swift may be drawn into the explosive legal battle between actress Blake Lively and actor-director Justin Baldoni, but her representatives are calling the potential subpoena a publicity stunt. Baldoni’s $400 million lawsuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for defamation and extortion, stems from accusations of sexual harassment and retaliation leveled by Lively.

Swift’s involvement appears limited to licensing the song “My Tears Ricochet” for the film *It Ends With Us*, a decision made by nineteen other artists as well. A spokesperson for Swift insists she had minimal involvement with the film, never visiting the set, participating in creative decisions, or even seeing the movie until weeks after its release. The spokesperson claims the subpoena is an attempt to leverage Swift’s name for media attention rather than focusing on the merits of the case.

The lawsuit mentions an interaction between Baldoni, Lively, Reynolds, and an unnamed celebrity – confirmed by sources to be Swift – where the celebrity reportedly praised Lively’s script. Lively later referred to her husband and this unnamed individual as her “dragons” in text messages.

While the tension between Lively and Baldoni began during the film’s press tour in August, Lively filed her sexual harassment suit on New Year’s Eve. Baldoni’s countersuit followed shortly after. The trial is scheduled for March 9, 2026. USA TODAY has reached out to Lively and Baldoni’s legal teams for comment.
