**MYSURU, May 10, 2025** – Mandya district is intensifying its survey of Scheduled Caste (SC) households following slow progress, Deputy Commissioner Kumar announced today. The survey, mandated by a one-man inquiry commission investigating internal SC reservation, aims to collect crucial data on SC communities.

As of today, only 26% of the survey is complete, covering just 15,973 out of the 61,423 SC households identified in the 2011 census. To address this, the district administration has deployed 1,889 enumerators and implemented daily monitoring by tahsildars and social welfare officials. The Deputy Commissioner has set a three-day deadline for completion and emphasized the need for 100% coverage, ensuring no SC family is left out. He has also met with SC community leaders to address any concerns. The expedited survey follows a review meeting held on Friday, where officials were directed to improve the pace of data collection.
