**Gandhinagar, Gujarat, May 10, 2025** – Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has ordered border districts to prepare for potential evacuations in the wake of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, code-named “Operation Sindoor”. Following a video conference with district collectors of Kutch, Banaskantha, Patan, and Jamnagar, Patel instructed officials to finalize village evacuation plans and ensure the availability of essential supplies.
The Chief Minister reviewed security measures implemented by the state administration, emphasizing the need for readily available satellite phones, wireless systems, and walkie-talkies to maintain communication. He stressed the importance of preparing safe relocation sites and arranging transport in advance, also directing road construction teams to be ready to quickly repair any damaged infrastructure.
To ensure preparedness, the state government is monitoring the prices of 38 essential commodities, maintaining sufficient stockpiles of food items, and working with oil companies to prevent fuel shortages. The health department has deployed additional medical staff and ambulances to border areas, and is organizing large-scale blood donation drives. Secretaries from relevant departments have been dispatched to the districts to offer support to local administrations. The measures underscore Gujarat’s proactive approach to safeguarding its citizens amidst the ongoing conflict.
