VIJAYAWADA, May 10, 2025 – A Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Andhra Pradesh has issued summons to three individuals in connection with an ongoing investigation into a multi-million liquor scam. Retired IAS officer K. Dhanunjaya Reddy, former Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) Secretary; Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Krishna Mohan Reddy; and Bharati Cements Director Govindappa Balaji have all been ordered to appear before investigators in Vijayawada on Sunday, May 11th.

SIT officials visited the residences of the accused in Hyderabad, serving notices to their family members after the accused reportedly went into hiding. The investigation centers on allegations that YSR Congress Party leaders promoted a new liquor policy, introduced new brands, and accepted kickbacks from distilleries, resulting in significant losses for the state government.

This action follows the arrest and judicial custody of several other individuals, including former IT Advisor Kessireddy Raja Shekhar Reddy, who is considered the main suspect. The SIT has already questioned several other high-profile figures in relation to the scam. The investigation continues.
