Wed May 07 23:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Dodgers Lose Key Player to Groin Injury
**MIAMI, FL -** The Los Angeles Dodgers will be without star right fielder Teoscar Hernández for several weeks due to a left groin strain. Hernández was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, one day after exiting Monday’s game against the Miami Marlins with the injury.
An MRI revealed a Grade 1 strain in his left adductor. While manager Dave Roberts didn’t offer a specific timetable for his return, he confirmed Hernández’s absence will be measured in weeks, not days. “He’s going to be inactive for a while,” Roberts stated. Hernández was hitting .315 with a .933 OPS and a Major League-leading 34 RBIs before the injury.
His absence leaves a significant hole in the Dodgers’ lineup. “Without Teo, you’re trying to balance out the lineup,” Roberts explained. “A guy that can take professional at-bats, drive in runs — he’s certainly going to be missed.”
To compensate, the Dodgers recalled outfielder James Outman from Triple-A Oklahoma City. Additionally, reliever J.P. Feyereisen joined the team, while right-hander Landon Knack will serve in a bulk pitching role.
With both Hernández and utility player Tommy Edman on the injured list, the Dodgers are adopting a more platoon-based approach. This will particularly affect the second base and center field positions. Andy Pages will see increased time in right field, with Outman in center and Hyeseong Kim at second base. Kim, recently called up from Oklahoma City, has an opportunity to demonstrate his value to the team. Outman, too, aims to prove himself after a slow start to the season.
