**KARUR, INDIA (May 7, 2025)** – Indian authorities have cracked down on a major identity fraud operation, arresting six individuals in Karur for producing and distributing fake Permanent Account Numbers (PAN) and Aadhaar cards. The Anti-Terrorism Squad, working with local police, raided a building and seized approximately 130 fake PAN cards, 69 Aadhaar enrolment forms, a laptop, six mobile phones, and other equipment used in the operation.
Among those detained are Jayakumar, who acted as an agent, and Karthick, who impersonated an Aadhaar enrolment officer. The investigation is ongoing, with police questioning all six suspects regarding their roles in the scheme. Authorities believe the fake PAN cards were being used to fraudulently obtain Aadhaar cards, a crucial identification document in India.
