Thu May 08 00:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Over 300 Flights Cancelled Nationwide Following Airspace Restrictions
**Hyderabad, May 8, 2025** – Airspace restrictions imposed by the Indian government in response to “Operation Sindoor” have led to the cancellation of over 300 domestic flights between Wednesday morning and May 10th. Approximately 25 airports in northern and western India, including Srinagar, Leh, Jammu, Amritsar, and Shimla, have been temporarily closed. Furthermore, around 25 flight routes over Pakistan have been suspended.
Several domestic and international airlines have announced flight cancellations, advising passengers to check for real-time updates before departing. Qatar Airways has confirmed the temporary suspension of flights to Pakistan. Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport is urging passengers to check with their airlines for updates.
The restrictions have significantly impacted Hyderabad’s Shamshabad International Airport, with 20 flights to six destinations in northern India cancelled and 22 services delayed. This coincides with heightened security measures at the airport due to the Miss World competition, currently underway in the city. Authorities have implemented a high alert, with increased CRPF presence and requests for passengers to arrive earlier than scheduled to accommodate potential check-in delays.
