Wed May 07 22:30:00 UTC 2025: ## NYCFC Calls Up Trio from Affiliate for US Open Cup Clash
**New York, NY –** New York City FC has bolstered its roster for tonight’s US Open Cup Round of 32 match against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds with the signing of three players from its MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, NYCFC II. Goalkeeper Mac Learned, midfielder Peter Molinari, and forward Seymour Reid have all been signed to short-term agreements.
The trio traveled with the team to Pittsburgh and are eligible for selection in tonight’s 7 PM ET match, broadcast on Paramount+ and CBS Sports Network. This marks Molinari’s fourth short-term agreement of the season, while Learned and Reid have also seen previous first-team action. Reid, notably, became NYCFC’s youngest-ever first-team player after a substitution against the Columbus Crew earlier this year.
NYCFC returns to the US Open Cup after a strong showing in recent years, reaching the quarterfinals in 2019 and 2022. The club’s affiliate, NYCFC II, also made history last year as the first reserve team to reach the Round of 16. The signings of Learned, Molinari, and Reid represent NYCFC’s continued investment in its youth development system.
