Wed May 07 23:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Porzingis Probable for Game 2 Despite Illness; Hauser Doubtful
**BOSTON –** Boston Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis is listed as probable for Game 2 of their playoff series against the New York Knicks, despite missing the second half of Game 1 due to illness. Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla confirmed Tuesday that Porzingis’ ailment is non-COVID-related, possibly a lingering effect of an upper respiratory infection that sidelined him for eight games earlier this season.
Mazzulla stated that Porzingis had been battling the illness since his return in March, pushing through to remain available. However, the symptoms intensified during Game 1, forcing him to exit. While Porzingis averaged 24.4 points and shot 59% in his first five games after recovering from the initial illness, his postseason performance has been less impressive, with a 32% overall shooting percentage.
Meanwhile, the outlook is less optimistic for Celtics wing Sam Hauser, who sprained his right ankle in Game 1. Hauser did not practice Tuesday and is listed as doubtful for Game 2. The Celtics will be closely monitoring both players’ conditions ahead of Wednesday’s crucial matchup.
