**New Delhi, May 7, 2025** – India launched a series of missile strikes against nine terrorist targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir early this morning in an operation codenamed “Operation Sindoor.” The action comes in retaliation for a terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22nd, which killed 26 tourists.

The Indian armed forces targeted training camps linked to banned organizations such as Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen. Among the sites struck were the JeM stronghold in Bahawalpur and a LeT base in Muridke.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a prominent Hindu nationalist organization, has hailed the operation. This decisive response follows a meeting between RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 29th, where Bhagwat reportedly pledged full support for the government’s response to the Pahalgam attack.
