Wed May 07 15:15:37 UTC 2025: ## Andhra Pradesh Conducts Emergency Preparedness Drills Amidst India-Pakistan Tensions
**NANDYAL, Andhra Pradesh (May 7, 2025)** – Kurnool and Nandyal districts in Andhra Pradesh conducted mock emergency drills today, responding to directives from the Union Home Ministry. The drills, involving police, fire services, medical personnel, and other departments, aimed to assess preparedness for potential emergencies amid heightened tensions with Pakistan.
In Nandyal, a simulated bomb explosion at the Ramnath centre triggered a coordinated response. Police, fire services, and emergency medical teams practiced rescuing and treating “injured” individuals, while a bomb disposal squad searched the area. Superintendent of Police Adhiraj Singh Rana and Joint Collector C. Vishnu Charan emphasized the drills’ importance in preparing for both terrorist attacks and natural disasters.
Kurnool’s drill, held at Kondareddy Buruju, simulated a public emergency triggered by a siren. Participants practiced evacuating the area and following safety procedures. Both drills highlighted the districts’ commitment to ensuring public safety in the current geopolitical climate.
