**Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, May 8, 2025** – A surprise inspection by the Drug Control Administration (DCA) at a private Ayurvedic hospital and drug store in Vijayawada resulted in the seizure of drugs worth approximately ₹44.40 lakh. The raid, conducted Wednesday, uncovered stocks with objectionable therapeutic claims violating the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954. The seized drugs allegedly claimed to treat ailments such as fever, tuberculosis, asthma, and cancer, and to stimulate the nervous system and brain. The DCA team, led by Assistant Director K. Anil Kumar and Drugs Inspector J. Vinodh, cited these unsubstantiated claims as the reason for the seizure.
