Tue May 06 06:11:28 UTC 2025: ## Telangana High Court Grants Interim Protection to IPS Officer
**Hyderabad, May 6, 2025** – The Telangana High Court has granted interim protection to senior IPS officer Abhilasha Bisht, preventing her transfer to the Andhra Pradesh cadre. The court suspended the Union government’s order allocating her to Andhra Pradesh, pending adjudication of her original application before the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) in Hyderabad.
Bisht challenged her transfer, arguing that it stemmed from a “mala fide interference” with her seniority following the creation of Telangana state in 2014. The High Court noted the abrupt change in her seniority in 2014 and questioned the Telangana state’s counsel on the basis of this change, receiving no satisfactory explanation.
The court’s decision grants Bisht continued service in Telangana, a status she has maintained with interim protection from the CAT and High Court. The High Court emphasized that its observations are based on preliminary information. The case highlights ongoing complexities surrounding the reallocation of officers following the state’s division. Similar cases involving other officers, Abhishek Mohanty and Siva Sankar Lotheti, are also currently undergoing legal proceedings.
