NEW DELHI – The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued notices to the Telangana government following a deadly explosion at an explosives manufacturing plant. The blast, which occurred on April 29th at a propellant mixing unit in Katepalli village, Yadadri Bhongir district, killed three workers and injured three others. The explosion reportedly caused the complete collapse of the mixing unit.
The plant manufactures explosives for both commercial and defense organizations, including the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The NHRC, citing serious human rights violations, has demanded a detailed report within two weeks from the Telangana Chief Secretary and Director General of Police. The report must include the current health status of the injured.
