
Tue May 06 09:46:00 UTC 2025: ## Kerala Announces Plus One Admissions Schedule: Over 474,000 Seats Available
**Thiruvananthapuram, May 6, 2025** – Kerala’s Minister for General Education, V. Sivankutty, announced the schedule for Plus One (higher secondary) admissions for the 2025-26 academic year. Online applications will be accepted from May 14 to May 20. The first allotment will be published on June 2, followed by the second on June 10 and the third on June 16. Classes will commence on June 18, a week earlier than last year.
A total of 4,74,917 Plus One seats are available across the state, including 4,41,887 higher secondary seats and 33,030 vocational higher secondary seats. An additional 61,429 ITI seats and 9,990 polytechnic seats further expand higher secondary education opportunities to a total of 5,46,336.
To accommodate all eligible students, the government has approved a marginal increase in seats. This includes a 30% increase in government schools and a 20% increase in aided schools in seven districts (Thiruvananthapuram, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod). A 10% increase is also available for aided schools requesting it. A 20% increase is allocated to government and aided schools in Kollam, Ernakulam, and Thrissur districts, as well as in Ambalappuzha and Cherthala taluks of Alappuzha district. No increase is planned for Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, and Idukki districts. The seat increase, along with batch shifting, will add 81,330 seats.
Supplementary allotments will be conducted after the main phase to fill any remaining seats. The entire admission process is expected to conclude by July 23.
