**LOS ANGELES, CA –** A new chapter in the saga of suburban secrets is unfolding. Onyx Collective is developing a reboot of the hit ABC series *Desperate Housewives*, titled *Wisteria Lane*, Variety has confirmed. The project, set on the iconic cul-de-sac, will center on five friends – and sometimes frenemies – whose seemingly idyllic lives mask hidden depths.
The series will be written and executive produced by Natalie Chaidez ( *The Flight Attendant*, *Queen of the South*), with Kerry Washington and Pilar Savone executive producing via their Simpson Street production company, which also produced Onyx Collective’s *Reasonable Doubt*. Stacey Sher of Shiny Penny will also serve as an executive producer. 20th Television is the studio behind the project.
The original *Desperate Housewives*, created by Marc Cherry, ran for eight seasons on ABC (2004-2012) and earned numerous accolades, including Emmy wins for Felicity Huffman and Kathryn Joosten. This new iteration promises to capture the same soapy drama and intriguing mysteries that made the original a global phenomenon.
This development further strengthens the relationship between Simpson Street and Onyx Collective. Simpson Street is currently under an overall deal with 20th Television. Chaidez is represented by CAA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman, while Simpson Street is represented by CAA, Washington Square Arts, and Gretchen Bruggeman Rush Huy Nguyen.
