**Hyderabad, India – May 5, 2025** – The Government Railway Police (GRP) in Secunderabad, India, incinerated over 2,010 kilograms of seized dry marijuana valued at more than ₹10 crore (approximately US$1.2 million) on May 5th. The destruction, part of a nationwide initiative, involved contraband confiscated in 74 separate cases across various railway divisions.
The largest quantity, 1,419 kg worth ₹7.09 crore, originated from the Secunderabad Urban Division. Smaller quantities came from the Rural and Kazipet divisions. The incineration, carried out at Romo Industries in Thokkapur village, adhered to strict official protocols and was fully documented. The Drug Disposal Committee chairperson, Chandana Deepti, oversaw the process, with personnel from several divisions participating.
