**Chennai, May 5, 2025** – AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami criticized the ruling DMK government in Tamil Nadu for its failure to control rising prices of essential commodities. Speaking at a Traders’ Day meeting in Maraimalai Nagar, Palaniswami accused the DMK of unfairly blaming traders for the inflation.

He urged the trading community to recognize the state government’s responsibility and inform the public accordingly. Palaniswami pledged his party’s continued support for traders, regardless of their electoral success.

The AIADMK leader advocated for legal protection for micro-enterprise owners, including full tax exemption for indigenous businesses potentially harmed by technological advancements. He also called for the removal of harsh penalties imposed on vehicles carrying goods with discrepancies. Palaniswami promised to reward honest taxpayers should the AIADMK win the 2026 Assembly elections.
