**Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, May 5, 2025** – A small fire broke out at the Mahakal Lok Corridor near the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain on Monday evening. According to officials, the fire originated in a battery system within a Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board (MPPCB) air quality monitoring room located approximately 200 meters from the main temple.
The fire was quickly extinguished by temple and city fire tenders within ten minutes, with no reported injuries or disruption to temple activities. Devotees continued their visits and prayers without incident. Ujjain Collector Roshan Kumar Singh confirmed that the situation was under control and that the fire appeared to be caused by a short circuit, though an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause. Police ensured the safety of both devotees and temple staff.
