Mon May 05 05:34:53 UTC 2025: ## Former Haryana Congress MLA Arrested in Delhi for ₹500 Crore Fraud
**New Delhi, May 5, 2025** – Dharam Singh Chhoker, a 61-year-old former Haryana Congress MLA, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Sunday in Delhi. Chhoker, who lost his seat in last year’s Haryana Assembly elections, is accused of cheating over 1,500 homebuyers and siphoning off more than ₹500 crore.
The arrest follows the issuance of multiple non-bailable warrants by a Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court. Chhoker and his son, Vikas Chhoker (also absconding), were named in a Gurugram Police FIR against Sai Aaina Farms and associated companies. Another son, Sikandar Chhoker, was arrested by the ED last year and is currently out on bail.
Chhoker will be produced before a Gurugram court today. The ED’s investigation stems from allegations of a large-scale financial fraud involving the misappropriation of funds intended for housing projects.
