**New Delhi** – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is poised to release the results for its Class 10 and 12 board examinations shortly. Ahead of the announcement, the board has clarified the passing criteria and outlined key changes to its post-result procedures.
For Class 10, students need a minimum of 33% in each subject, combining theory and internal assessment marks. They must also pass at least five subjects, including two languages (one being Hindi or English). Class 12 students require a 33% score in each subject individually, with separate 33% thresholds for theory and practical exams (where applicable).
Students dissatisfied with their results can apply for re-evaluation. A significant change this year allows students to obtain photocopies of their evaluated answer sheets *before* applying for verification or re-evaluation.
A second chance is offered through compartmental examinations for students failing one or two subjects. Students have up to three attempts at the compartmental exam; failure in all three necessitates retaking all subjects the following year. For subjects with practical components, previous practical marks are carried forward if the student passed the practical but failed the theory exam. Failure in the practical exam requires retaking both the theory and practical portions.
Students are advised to monitor the official CBSE website and other reputable news sources for the latest updates on result release dates.
