**OMAHA, NE** – Berkshire Hathaway’s annual shareholder meeting kicked off Friday with a massive shopping extravaganza, the “Berkshire Bazaar of Bargains,” offering shareholders unique merchandise from across the conglomerate’s diverse holdings. Over 20,000 square feet of showroom space at the CHI Health Center showcased goods from Brooks Running, See’s Candies, Squishmallows, and more.
The highlight of the shopping event was the overwhelming popularity of Squishmallows, with over 1,000 Buffett and Munger-themed plush toys selling per hour. A new limited-edition dog Squishmallow, “Omaha,” also debuted. Other popular items included special edition Berkshire Hathaway-branded running shoes from Brooks, and See’s Candies’ new toasted marshmallow chocolates and Buffett-themed coins. Dairy Queen provided discounted Dilly Bars and Buster Bars.
Saturday’s main event featured Warren Buffett, Greg Abel, and Ajit Jain addressing shareholder questions on CNBC regarding economic issues, market volatility, and tariffs. A limited-edition book commemorating 60 years of Berkshire Hathaway is also on sale, with proceeds from signed copies benefiting the Stephen Center. A giant claw machine offered additional prizes, with proceeds going to the Hope Center for Kids. A separate shopping event at Borsheims jewelry store offered discounted luxury items. AIT Worldwide Logistics provided packing and shipping services to help attendees manage their purchases. The event concluded with a Sunday 5K fun run organized by Brooks. The event was broadcast live on CNBC, both in English and Mandarin.
