**Aruppukottai, Tamil Nadu – May 2, 2025** – A 51-year-old government school teacher, J. Rohini, died Friday in a road accident on the Madurai-Thoothukudi highway near Ramanujapuram. According to Aruppukottai Taluk police, Rohini was riding pillion on a motorbike driven by her 19-year-old son, Lakshmana Perumal, when an unidentified vehicle struck them and fled the scene. Rohini sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at Aruppukottai Government Hospital. Police are investigating the incident.
