**LAMPASAS, TX – May 1, 2024** – Central Texas residents are urged to prepare for severe weather tonight. The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for much of the region, including Lampasas, Coryell, and Bell counties, until 9 p.m. Locally heavy thunderstorms are expected throughout the evening, with a few storms potentially becoming severe. These storms are predicted to bring 2 to 3 inches of rain.
After midnight, the storms are expected to subside, leaving partly cloudy skies. Low temperatures will hover around 65°F, with winds from the south-southeast at 15 to 25 mph. The chance of rain is 100%. Residents are advised to monitor weather reports and take necessary precautions.
