**COIMBATORE, INDIA (April 29, 2025)** – T. Vijayakumar has been appointed as the new City Engineer of Coimbatore Corporation, ending a seven-month vacancy. The position had been vacant since September 2024, following the transfer of Mr. Anbazhagan to Chennai Corporation. Executive Engineer G. Murugesan temporarily filled the role, but his recent promotion to Superintending Engineer at Erode Corporation necessitated the appointment of Mr. Vijayakumar. Mr. Vijayakumar, formerly a Superintending Engineer in Erode, has now been promoted to the City Engineer position in Coimbatore. A replacement for Mr. Murugesan as Executive Engineer is yet to be named.
