VIJAYAWADA, INDIA (April 29, 2025) – P. Sitarama Anjaneyulu, a former Intelligence Director-General, has been transferred to Vijayawada jail after two days of questioning by the Crime Investigation Department (CID) police. Anjaneyulu is accused of involvement in the alleged harassment of Bollywood actress Kadambari Jethwani.
The CID alleges that Anjaneyulu, Accused No. 2 in the case, orchestrated the filing of a false police report against Jethwani and her family in February 2024. During questioning, he was pressed on his reasons for intervention, whether he faced external pressure, his communications with Accused No. 1 Kukkala Vidyasagar, and the detention of the actress and her family in a hotel following their release on bail.
Anjaneyulu, a suspended IPS officer, was arrested on April 21st in Hyderabad. Following a three-day police custody period, he was remanded to Vijayawada jail. The investigation continues.
