MADRID, SPAIN — Spanish electricity operator REE announced late Monday that over 20% of the country’s power capacity has been restored following a major outage affecting both Spain and Portugal. The company, posting on X (formerly Twitter), stated that more than a fifth of the Iberian Peninsula’s electricity demand has been reconnected, utilizing a combination of domestically generated power and imports from France. REE added that power supply is being progressively reinstated across Spain.
