Sun Apr 27 13:56:16 UTC 2025: ## Kasaragod Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Ganja Smuggling

**KASARAGOD, April 27, 2025** – A Kasaragod court has sentenced K.A. Nawas, 44, to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and a ₹1 lakh fine for smuggling 52 kg of ganja in 2013. The ganja was concealed in a modified jeep during a seizure at Chengala Bayvincha. Nawas will serve an additional three months if the fine is not paid. The case, which involved a lengthy trial, was led by then-Inspector C.K. Sunilkumar, now DySP. Two other accused remain at large, and Nawas faces charges in another similar narcotics case.
