**Thiruvananthapuram, April 27, 2025** – The Kerala State government has announced the opening of online applications for the general transfer of higher secondary teachers for the 2025-26 academic year. The application portal, http://www.dhsetransfer.kerala.gov.in, will be open until May 3rd. This follows a year without transfers despite requests from teacher organizations.

Education Minister V. Sivankutty aims to complete the process by May to allow teachers to settle into their new schools before the June 1st start date. The Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) has facilitated profile updates and vacancy reporting to ensure accuracy. Incorrect information will result in disciplinary action. Teachers can rectify errors in person at the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education on April 28th and 29th.

Eligibility requires three years of service (two in tribal, hilly, or remote areas, with adjustments for continuous service). Teachers can apply to an unlimited number of schools with vacancies. Positions of teachers completing five years in their home district will be considered open. Document authenticity will be verified.

Over 7,815 vacancies exist, with Malappuram (1,124), Kannur (944), and Kozhikode (747) districts reporting the highest numbers. English (859), Economics (527), and Mathematics (482) have the most subject-specific vacancies. Real-time vacancy details are available on the portal.
