Sun Apr 27 01:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Andhra Pradesh Sizzles Under Scorching Heat, Relief in Sight as Rains Predicted
**Amaravati, April 27:** Andhra Pradesh is experiencing a severe heatwave, with temperatures soaring above 40 degrees Celsius in many areas. Citizens are finding it difficult to venture outdoors, especially during the afternoon. The intense heat during the day is compounded by sultry nights, leaving the population uncomfortable.
However, there is some relief in sight. The Andhra Pradesh Meteorological Department has forecast rain and thunderstorms in several districts over the next two days. Strong winds (30-40 kmph) are also anticipated in some regions.
According to the Amaravati Meteorological Centre, a trough extending from Telangana to Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu is influencing the weather patterns. This trough, situated at 0.9 km above mean sea level, is expected to bring rain to several parts of the state. Light to moderate rain or thunderstorms are likely in the north coastal districts today, with strong winds possible. The south coastal districts are expected to remain dry. Similar weather conditions are predicted for Rayalaseema districts, with a chance of strong winds. No significant changes in maximum and minimum temperatures are expected in the next five days.
The Andhra Pradesh Disaster Management Authority has issued a warning of severe heatwaves in specific mandals of Alluri and Kakinada districts, and heatwave conditions in 17 other mandals. Light rain and thunderstorms are predicted for parts of Uttarandhra. The highest temperatures recorded on Saturday were 42.5°C in Siddavatam (Y.S.R. District) and 42.2°C in Gospadu (Nandyal District). The authority reported temperatures exceeding 40°C in 95 locations across the state and warned citizens to be prepared for unseasonal rain and thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, Telangana is also expected to experience light to moderate rain in certain areas, particularly in Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts, according to the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre.
