**Tiruchi, Tamil Nadu, April 24, 2025** – The Srirangam railway station’s renovation under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS) is nearing completion. The ₹5.14 crore project, which began in late 2023, has significantly upgraded passenger amenities.
Improvements include a revamped station building facade, new toilets, renovated waiting areas (including an air-conditioned hall), improved platform flooring with additional seating, digital information boards, ramps and signage for disabled passengers, and a landscaped area with a selfie point. Parking and the station approach road have also been improved.
While the majority of the work is finished, a divisional railway official stated that some finishing touches remain. A separate project to install passenger lifts is underway, with purchase orders currently being processed. The Srirangam station is one of fifteen in the Tiruchi Railway Division undergoing modernization under the ABSS.
