**Mangalore, April 24, 2025** – Cloudy weather prevented residents of Mangalore from witnessing the “no shadow day” phenomenon on Thursday. The Pilikula Regional Science Centre, which had organized an event to observe the rare astronomical occurrence, reported that the cloud cover obscured the sun at midday, making it impossible to experience the event.

Despite the weather, the centre provided attendees with solar filter fitted telescopes to view sunspots. Experts were also on hand to explain the phenomenon through talks and models. The centre expressed disappointment that the cloud cover prevented the main event from being observed.
