**New Delhi, April 23, 2025** – The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a severe weather warning, predicting heavy rainfall and potential hailstorms across several states for the next seven days. The alert covers a wide swathe of the country, with varying levels of intensity.

Northeast India is expected to bear the brunt of the storm, with strong winds (40-60 kmph) and heavy rain likely in Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh until April 27th. Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura will experience heavy rainfall from April 23rd to 26th, while Arunachal Pradesh faces a similar threat on April 23rd and 24th.

Southern India is also under threat, with thunderstorms and strong winds (30-50 kmph) predicted for Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry. Similar conditions are anticipated in East India from April 26th to 28th. The IMD has specifically warned of hailstorms in Jharkhand on April 27th.

A new Western Disturbance is expected to impact the Western Himalayan region starting April 24th, bringing thunderstorms and rain to the area until April 26th.
